Member of the Board Mr. Cresanti is the Managing Director of Ocean Tomo Investments and is responsible for establishing a public market index based on stocks with superior underlying intellectual property value. Mr. Cresanti has over a decade of experience in banking, securities and privacy law, serving as the the Chief Privacy Officer of the Department of Commerce, and has been involved in critical infrastructure protection since 1997. (More) Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, Mr. Cresanti served as Under Secretary of Commerce for Technology. In that role, he oversaw the nearly 3000 staff members and $1 billion in outlays of the Technology Administration (TA). As Under Secretary, Mr. Cresanti also co-chaired the Committee on Technology and the Interagency Working Group on Manufacturing R&D within the President's National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). Before his confirmation, Mr. Cresanti held senior executive and legal positions with the two premier technology trade associations in Washington, DC. Earlier in his career, he served as Staff Director for the Senate Special Committee on the Year 2000 Technology Problem. His experience in writing banking and securities legislation for the House and Senate Banking Committees allowed him to rise to the position of Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Financial Services and Technology for the Senate Banking Committee. Mr. Cresanti holds a Bachelor of Arts from Austin College and a J.D. from Baylor University. |
