Mark Ward - Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Mr. Ward brings 28 years of experience in developing hardware and software for embedded systems. Mark has held positions as: Senior Software Engineer with MicorMax; Electrical and Software Engineering Manager for Tripmaster Corporation; and Valenite Gaging Systems where he became the inventor for U.S. Patent #5,689,447 for Temperature-Compensated, Self Calibrating, Contact-type Gaging System.  Prior to that, he was employed as an Embedded Systems Software Engineer for Precision Devices, Inc. and as Senior Computer Systems Engineer for Automatic Data Processing.  Mr. Ward holds an Associate Degree from Washtenaw Community College.  Mark is responsible for architecture and development of the embedded software components in all Digital Defense products.

Bill Jones - Senior Electrical Engineer

Mr. Jones has over 20 years experience in both analog, digital, and microcontroller design, development, and fabrication. He previously held positions as:  Senior Electrical Engineer at Qualstar Corp; Senior Hardware Design Engineer with Cellport Systems, Inc and Senior Electrical Engineer at AMETEK/Dixson. He has also work at Honeywell Controls and Interface Devices Group, as well as the Microwave Systems Group at Honeywell’s Military Avionics Division where he was made a Senior Development Engineer.  He has extensive experience in the complete product life cycle from system definition, thru design, development, prototype, and on to production of both large scale and low volume production. Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota with post graduate work in electrical and VLSI design.  Bill plays a major role in all Digital Defense hardware designs, prototyping, tuning, and production readiness.  His many interests include farming, scouting, private pilot and amateur radio.

Bruno Roger - Senior Software Engineer

Mr. Roger has over 12 years of experience in software design and telecommunication protocols. He previously held positions as: Senior Software Engineer at MorphoTrak (formerly SAGEM Morpho) and Software Engineer in the Mobile Phones division of SAGEM Inc. His positions with SAGEM allowed him to work on various projects from embedding low level GSM protocols to customized firmware of biometric devices. Bruno acquired experience in testing methods as well as certification procedures.  Mr. Roger was born in France where he obtained his degrees at a European level.  He holds a Master of Science in telecommunication engineering from the National Engineering School of Telecommunications in Paris and a Bachelor degree in Applied Physics from the Aix/Marseilles University.   Bruno is involved with the telecommunication interfaces of Digital Defense products as part of the embedded firmware and is responsible for the design and development of the personal computer applications

John Bartek - Electrical Engineer

Mr. Bartek is a graduate of the Peter Kiewit Institute where he helped design the microcontroller board used in the Tekbot program.  His work in co-designing and building the Intelligent Toolbox led him to present to the members of FIATECH and receive the first place award in senior design at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  John joined Digital Defense Group in June of 2006 and has taken the lead on development of encapsulation, inductive charging, electronic fabrication projects, and pcb design.  John is very active in all product decisions and wears many hats for DDG.  John has done everything from giving sales presentations, to building a custom epoxy mixing machine saving the company thousands of dollars.  John brings an in-depth knowledge base of current and emerging products and the ability to integrate them into working prototypes.
